Description
These Japanese professional quality "Sokan" branded shears are made at the Sokan Cutlery factory which has a history dating back over 200 years. Originally supplying swords, when the Samurai era ended they switched production to pruning shears and in fact made the first pair of secateurs in Japan over 140 years ago.
Crafted by master craftsmen from only two pieces of metal, these Japanese secateurs are much stronger than European manufactured ones. Hardened KA70 carbon steel (58 - 60HRC) is used for the blade of this robust, high-quality tool giving a smooth, razor-sharp cut.
The unusual tapered bolt holding these secateurs together allows them to be used for a long time without needing to be tightened.
Suitable up to branch thickness 12 mm
Total length 200 mm
Blade length 50 mm
Packed in a distinctive box these secateurs would make great gift for any passionate gardener or simply treat yourself to this wonderful tool.
To sharpen these tools use our Japanese Waterstones.
And to keep them from rusting simply dry after use and wipe over occasionally with Camellia Oil.
